Luxury carmaker Lucid might not be on everyone’s radar yet, but they should be. Lucid, founded in 2007, is an American electric vehicle manufacturer that made vehicles available to 520 reservation holders nearly just over one year ago. Lucid has claimed that their Dream Edition, a top-of-the-line EV (electric vehicle), can make it 520 miles per EPA standards. This is quite an impressive feat, considering that the most that Tesla has been able to offer to date has been 405 miles.
And Lucid is continuing to make life easier for EV-loving consumers, recently unveiling their new Connected Home Charging Station. This ingenious charging device can be installed in your garage or driveway and is a significant improvement over the charging cables that came with their Air model. Not only that but this new device charges batteries twice as fast as those older cables.
While the Connected Home Charging Station isn’t as fast as a commercial DC fast charger, it is far more effective than what Lucid owners have had to work with to date. Lucid lovers can expect to receive:
With this new charging option and incredible range, Lucid customers can spend more time on the road and less time looking for a public charging station. This is great news, especially as the country has struggled to keep up with EV charging demand.
The Connected Home Charging Station runs $1,200 USD, approximately $110 US less than what Ford owners pay for their at-home EV chargers.
But Lucid hasn’t stopped just with the new charger. Lucid is now proudly offering a roof-mounted Cargo Capsule for active consumers who want to be on the go. An aluminum roof rack and weatherproof mats are also now available.
If you’re a Lucid owner or soon-to-be, you can place an order through the Lucid webstore. Deliveries are expected to begin before 2022 comes to an end.
